FLINDIP ER is in a class of drugs called calcium channel blockers.

Indicated for the treatment of hypertension, to lower blood pressure.

Lowering blood pressure controls the risk of fatal and non-fatal cardiovascular events, primarily strokes and myocardial infarctions.

 

Advantages:-

  • A reduction in blood pressure generally occurs within 2 to 5 hours.

  • It also reduces the force and the rate of your heartbeat, and this helps to prevent angina chest pain.

  • An effective and well tolerated antihypertensive drug, and that 5mg twice daily is a suitable starting dose in hypertensive patient’s refractory to beta-blocker mono-therapy.

  • Incidence of major adverse cardiovascular events was reduced if CCBs were used as first-line therapy for hypertension v/s other classes of antihypertensive drugs.

  • FLINDIP ER shows lesser oedema in elderly patients.

Dosage:-

  • 5 mg once a day

  • Depending on the patient's response, the dosage can be decreased to 2.5 mg or increased to 10 mg once a day.
