FLINDIP ER is in a class of drugs called calcium channel blockers.
Indicated for the treatment of hypertension, to lower blood pressure.
Lowering blood pressure controls the risk of fatal and non-fatal cardiovascular events, primarily strokes and myocardial infarctions.
A reduction in blood pressure generally occurs within 2 to 5 hours.
It also reduces the force and the rate of your heartbeat, and this helps to prevent angina chest pain.
An effective and well tolerated antihypertensive drug, and that 5mg twice daily is a suitable starting dose in hypertensive patient’s refractory to beta-blocker mono-therapy.
Incidence of major adverse cardiovascular events was reduced if CCBs were used as first-line therapy for hypertension v/s other classes of antihypertensive drugs.
FLINDIP ER shows lesser oedema in elderly patients.
5 mg once a day
Depending on the patient's response, the dosage can be decreased to 2.5 mg or increased to 10 mg once a day.
